"Member: To be eligible for Membership you must be at least 18 years old and be either Jewish or have a Jewish spouse" (2).
This refers to full membership of the MJAA. Only by having the correct racial credentials will any fellow Christian make it into this membership category. The MJAA is truly united in Christ but divided by "race".
In order that the MJAA can check the applicant's racial credentials s/he must respond appropriately to the following questions.
"I am Jewish.
My spouse is Jewish.
One or both of my parents are Jewish.
One or more of my grandparents are Jewish.
Other (explain)" (2).
Interestingly, the third and forth questions were also asked by the Nazis for the purpose of segregating "Jews" from their fellow citizens of "German or cognate blood" (not that I am for one moment intending to suggest that the MJAA is Nazi or that any of its members have Nazi sympathies). I nonetheless regard it as obscene that a Christian association at the end of the 20th century should be segregating its Christian membership on the same grounds that Nazi Germany once sent Jews to the extermination camps. The reason for the similarity is that both the Nazis and the MJAA work to the same non-Jewish racist concept of "Jew" (3 & 4).
"Associate Member: Neither I nor my spouse is Jewish. I have a great love for the Jewish people and I wish to join the support of my testimony to American Messianic Jewish revival by becoming an Associate of the MJAA" (2).
The MJAA's fellow Christian associate members are consequently assigned to a separate membership category solely on racial grounds. The MJAA is truly united in Christ but divided by "race"
The MJAA confirms the Christian credentials of applicants for membership by requiring them to affirm its "Statement of Faith" thus:
"I have made my public confession of faith in the Messiah Yeshua (Jesus of Nazareth). I have accepted Him personally as my Lord and Savior. I believe in His deity, His atonement for sin, and His resurrection from the dead. I accept the Scriptures (Old and New Covenants) as the supreme rule for faith and life. In applying for membership to the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, I affirm my adherence to the above Statement of Faith. I also affirm that all the information represented on this form is truthful and accurate to the best of my knowledge" (2).
